Show Prep
New to Everafter Ranch, trainer and barn manager, Amanda Wilson, was essential to our success at our first show together. In addition to hauling and showing, she did all the prep work on the ponies. Yippee! We find her barn garb particularly interesting. :o)
Model Stallion Class
Wow, what a tough group of stallions showed up for this show! Robin took two thirds, Hootie garnered a first from one judge and a second from the second judge.
Hootie
Thanks to LaDona Gooch's halter training, and Amanda's hard work in conditioning and prepping Hootie, he looked and behaved perfectly in his classes.
Hootie in Model Class
Hootie shows off his correct movement at the trot.
Sr. Stallion Class
Another tough class! One more stallion was still entering the ring. Hootie took a first and a second in this class.
Stallion Grand Champion Class
Hootie takes Grand Champion under one judge and Reserve Grand under the other.
A Well Deserved Reward
Hootie gets a kiss. He gets lots of loving at home too. Not nippy or aggressive like some stallions, we look forward to him passing on his superb disposition to his foals.
Robin
Deer Haven Red Robin wins Junior Champion Stallion and 2 year old stallion under both judges. Amanda Wilson showing.
Petal, Amanda, Pam
Everafter Petal was in a sour mood this show, perhaps from a long season of campaigning, including the Shetland Congress. We played with her a lot and tried to cheer her up a bit.
Petal
Just before halter class, Amanda tries to coax a pretty expression from Petal, but she is tired and grouchy (Petal, not Amanda).
Robin in Solid Color Class
Deer Haven Red Robin wins a large class under both judges. Amanda Wilson showing. Robin remains undefeated this year in Solid Color class. (Who can resist!?)
